Honda guys! i need your help!!!!!
Ive got a swapped 97 civic dx. the GSR has been changed over to obd1 (dunno if you needed to know). All of a sudden the car wants to bog down and die after running. Then if I try to start it, itll just click. I have power, I checked all fuses and they appear to be fine. I checked all grounds, they were tight. I can dump the clutch and start it, after i run it around for like 40 sec's. itll bog again and die. i havent got the slightest idea what this could be..

yea, itll hiccup and bog down and then die. I smashed it down the pedal it backfired, but then went dead. It wanted a fight but quit anyway.

yeah, has the timing belt been changed recently? it sounds like it could possibly be a timing problem.

Re: Honda guys! i need your help!!!!! (hondaman86)
does going up hill enitiate this bog down? if thats the case it might have somting to do with air intake or timing, but probly timing like hondaman86 said. its kind of hard to explane but it has to do with Bernoulli's Principle: The phenomenon of internal pressure reduction with increased stream velocity in a fluid. it's something i learned about air induction in one of my aviation classes.
for instance. when your going up hill and you dont downshift and your motor starts to shutter thats because its detonating. whats happening is your pistons are not moving as fast as hey should be because you car is slowing from going uphill. in return the air moving into your motor is moving slower and becasue of Bernoulli's Principle the velocity of the air slows and the pressure goes up and your motor will begin to detonate. whomping on the gas pedel will open the butterfly valve and only agravate the problem. hense the backfire you got when you gave it gas

Re: Honda guys! i need your help!!!!! (JDMEK-9)
Well it started up beautifully! and then it seemed that once it heated up it started to run like **** at idle. Id rev it up and instantly wanted to bog. But, if i kept it at idle, the motor would keep running, rough idle, but still turnin over... Would it be the oil pressure sensor on the back of the motor. When i dumped the clutch to start it, it idled fine and revved up fine... its just when it heats up it wants to run terrible. What could this be??
