I just picked a set of these up last weekend (needed new tires badly, this was a new set with new tires) and plan to put these on my otherwise 99 Civic EX coupe.

Here's the thing, somebody mentioned I needed washers so the wheels don't rub against the suspension in the rear (car's currently on P185/65/R14 steelies, and the Fit Sport rims are P195/55R15). I've never really dealt with aftermarket wheels, so yeah, I'm clueless.

I'm guessing I would just need to put 10mm worth of washers on each stud? Can I just pick these up at Lowes or Home Depot? Anyone know if I only need this down back or up front as well?

Do NOT use washers to space the wheels. If anything, purchase proper wheel spacers, which will come drilled in the correct 4x100 patten. Through a bit of searching, it appears the Fit wheels are 55mm offset, while the Civics are generally in the neighbourhood of 45mm, so a 10mm spacer should work, but will likely also require extended lugs.

gah seriously? any recommendations as to where to get these on my cheap? a quick google search showed me a few sites selling a set of 4 for ~$120 or so...

They probably won't get much cheaper than that, since most of the spacers will also include the necessary extended lugs.

Two quick questions:

1) So I definitely won't be able to bolt these onto the car without spacers, will I? If they manage to go on with no problems, what possible issues might arise?

2) I was talking to a coworker at lunch today, and he said he worked at a machine shop (or something to that effect) and he can make the spacers for me if I had the specs for it. Obviously I'd be looking for something 10mm thick, but does anyone have a spec sheet or something like that?

Give it a shot (but try it on the front, where the brakes are are larger). The worst thing that will happen is that they won't clear the brakes or suspension in some way. If they bolt on and spin freely with no rubbing, you're fine.

As long as the thickness is correct and the machining tolerances are good, it shouldn't matter all that much what pattern you use. You want the bolt pattern to be 4x100, and the centre bore to be 56.1mm, but also keep in mind that you will need longer replacement wheel studs.

got them on my 98 with no probs and no washers or spacers and it does not rub on anything !!!
