honda fit rims civic ek sedan rubbing issue
Hello all, I picked up a set of '09 honda fit oem rims for my 2000 civic ex 4dr but I am having issues getting the rear rims to clear the upper control arms, they are rubbing for some reason. I didn't have this problem with my old Si rims so I am wondering if the difference in offset (Si's=45 and Fits=55) is the cause. That is the only difference between the two rims, both are 15x6 and I'm running the same size tires 195/55s also the car is lowered on tokico blues and h&r sport springs. Do I need some sort of spacer to fix this or do I need some aftermarket upper control arms. Thanks in advance for the help.

yes..offset means how far from the mount of the rim to the edge...so 55 is a little bigger.
you can use a spacer...just need a small one.

Do the wheels have clip on weights? If so remove them.
I needed 3mm spacer in rear for my tires to clear my trailing arms, and to remove the clip on weights.

I used a 3mm universal spacer and it was enough. (granted it was my tires rubbing my trailing arm bushings.)
Be careful to not go too big or you will need to get extended studs. You will want a minimum of 6 full turns.
Good luck.
Edit- 5mm would be the MAX i used on stock studs.
