Are you looking for acceleration, or just overall feel? As far as acceleration, the manual will be a few tenths quicker.

Acceleration is important yes, but will the differense be more than 0.5sec on a 0-100 km/h sprint ?
I have a nice buy here, 1993 del sol aut, but i have not found any relevant information on performance between AT and MT. If the Manual T has a much beter acceleration i may have to pass on the car.

There is almost no way the MT will be a half second quicker to 60 (mph) than the auto. Maybe 2-3 tenths, but not more. Of course this depends on the condition of the motor.

Edit, to 60, a half second difference between an MT and a MT will not happen (in a Del Sol), but maybe 1/4 mile time depending on the motor.

Go manual. You won't regret it.
I think a it's just wrong to have a "sport" vehicle with an Auto. Apparently Honda does too since Civic Si's and S2000's only come in manuals. Manual just gives me more of the feel that I'm in control. Plus I just don't like the response of an auto. It feels delayed especially on take off. Of course getting used to the instant response of a B16 manual, driving an old Corsica auto (managers car and the last auto I've driven) I just ain't gonna get anywhere near the response. I had a 1985 Pontiac Sunbird Hatchback with a 3 speed auto and after moving to a 95 Civic EX Coupe with a 5-Speed manual, I never looked back. I can't stand driving auto anymore. That auto in the Sunbird was just flat out retarded. Sometimes it couldn't figure out when to shift and I had to help it. Hell, I like driving my Dad's 98 Tacoma more than my Mom's 03 PT Cruiser cause the truck's a manual. Lord knows I'm vastly enjoying a B16 Hatch manual.

wait til you have to get an auto repaired. it will outcost any manual transmission. be easier to find a used MT over a used AT. that's the Biggest difference i have seen

i drive an auto. i plan on swapping it. if u ever decide u want to upgrade... then manual's the only way to go. u can't really boost much on auto. and auto tranny's don't last long either.

Besides that the ar more working parts in an automatic tanny so there is more thagt can break. the only things that can go wrong in a MT are gears syncos or a clutch nwitch are not an expensive fix

Honda automatics <2000 feel chunky and slow. I used to drive a 93 accord, and it was terrible. I've driven an auto del sol .... and to use your words .... no, it doesn't feel like a sports car. Hell, a del sol with a manual doesn't feel like a sports car, but it feels a hell of a lot sportier than an autotragic.

Re: (Itzmy91Teg)
I speak from experience. Do not get an automatic, like previous posters have said you will be kicking yourself down the road. Im in the middle of my A2M. Well really Im waiting on my tranny. I even regret doing my A2M. I should of just sold the car, tried twice but couldnt get no one serious.
