Honda Civic HX ringing sound
Hey guys
I was hoping you'd be able to help me diagnose a strange sound coming from my car. I've done some work to isolate where its coming from. It happens in the following situations: 3100rpm only Every gear Off throttle only About my car... 1997 hx 5 speed 212k miles Good maintenance record and I have owned it for 8 years Clutch has not been replaced since I bought it (@129k miles) All other time sensitive parts (I.e. timing belt, water pump) have been replaced) Burns almost no oil No leaks, fluids OK Basically I am thinking this has to be either a bearing on the output shaft of the engine or the input shaft of the tranny. Its also possible its a badly worn clutch/flywheel that's experiencing resonance at that particular engine speed. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance. |

Most commonly caused by a loose or cracked exhaust heat shield
