just use 1993 and it'll be fine. The D15B7 came in all sorts of lowest-model Civics from 92-95. The JDM D15B has a better cam and real VTEC, kind of a destroked D16Z6.

The important thing is that you have a matching timing belt and water pump. You can use a couple of different options that will all work and work all the same, but what you can't do is mix up timing belt and water pump.
I have just always said 95 Civic EX for both parts.

If it is a JDM D15B SOHC VTEC...

That's what he has.
With a JDM D15B, you would use parts from a D16z6 motor. They are exactly identical except the D15B has slightly higher compression.

No, they are not exactly identical. And No you do not use the Z6 belt.
The D15B is similar to a USDM VX D15Z1 shortblock with Z6 rods and cylinder head. It possibly has a different cam. It has a shorther deck height, then the Z6 engine. The intake manifold doesn't have a purge solenoid and the O2 sensor is not heated.

I second this. The D15B block is shorter than the Z6 therefore the belt would be off a tooth or two.

I stand corrected. Yes it does have a different cam though
EDIT: Why is it that the parts are interchangeable? A friend told me that since a D15B is JDM, you cant buy parts for it over here in the states. Hence, you could just buy parts that are for the Z6 and use them on the D15B...is this not true?

Alot of parts are interchangeable but that doesn't mean they are identical... I concur about needing the VX timing belt (103 teeth) because I have a JDM D15b and that's what timing belt is on the motor. As far as the water pump I am told the VX water pump is also used but I have not personally had to change that yet.
