Honda Civic dx 92, timingbelt broke and had a mechanic replace with water pump today.

I am hearing a rattling sound(middle engine) when I push on the gas, and it gets louder when I get to 40 miles per hour and then mellows out. Mechanic said valve could be bent. He suggested I don't drive more than 40 miles per hour. He said it may go away with time or the head would have to be replaced. Please help can someone tell me if the valves are bent and is it safe to drive like this. Suggestions Please!

why does every noob go to this section for mechanical advice?

how is this related to tuning or engine management?

and also how do you expect people to help without any details

video of the noise is the first thing you should post for something liek this

how fast were you going when belt broke?
what engine. car it is
how many miles.

when belt brakes cams stop rotating
they get stuck in one position with one of the valves still open. theres never time when all the valves are completely closed.
meanwhile the crank rotates pushing the pistons to TDC and back so whichever valve stuck out the most got hit by the piston.
