Default Honda Certified Warranty

Mods can move this to GDD if they feel it neccessary, but I figured it would be a good reference to anyone who is considering buying a Honda Certifed Used Car.

A couple of months ago I bought a 2000 Civic Si from a Honda dealer. I knew I could have gotten one for cheaper, but I thought it wise to buy this one because it came with the Honda Certified Used Warranty. In case you don't know, that's a 1 year bumper to bumper and in my case a powertrain till March 07. Now I'm thinking that it may not have been a good idea after all. What's going to go wrong with a 45k mile Honda that was driven by a mature female driver before I? I'm going to sell the car unless I can come up with a reason to keep it. So...

My question is this. If you, like me, opted for the warranty, have you used it? Or do you think it was a waste of money?

Warranties are like safety nets. Maybe after 1 year of cross country driving you'll be able to use it.

better to be safe. like the guy above said, a safety net, it might come in handy in the future and pay for itself

My mom bought hers from the Dealership and has had her EGR valve die TWICE under warranty. The second time they tried to make her pay for it until I went up there and pulled some strings (I guess they didn't realize that I 1. could do it myself if they wanted to be dicks about it and 2. know damn near every manager up there.) I've got to say, I've not been impressed with our warranty work.
