Homebrew Recipe for VTEC wires?
Well, since my last thread got locked before I got a chance to clarify my question....
Can I get the pins and wiring for my P28 ECU at Radio Shack or Pep Boys? I don't have the liberty of going to a junk yard any time soon, but every thread I read about VTEC wiring says to use the wires from a junk yard harness. Has anyone actually built the wires for this job? (i.e. bought the wires and pins new from someplace) If so, what size pins did you buy?
Moderators: If you don't understand what I'm asking, please don't lock the thread. I know how to wire the VTEC.

wires you can buy from RS, I doubt that they will have the ECU plug pins, otherwise everyone would pay less & buy from there instead of a JY.

Anyone? I need to wire up my VTEC, but I am almost always working when the junk yards are open.
Is there any way to buy wires and pins or do I have to find a wrecked Civic to get this done?

Try calling up a Honda dealership, they obviously have access to them. You can do so while on lunch/etc, and I believe they give the option of shipping them out. If not, chances are you can work out a deal to pick it up assuming you can't get there before their parts shop closes.
Either that, or you buy cheap connectors at radioshack, cut off the stock connectors, and put on your own. If you want to keep the wires intact, pop the pins out and solder the wires to the back of the pin (where it doesn't slide against the other pin).

best bet is to find someone with a hacked up harness or a RHD jdm harness that came with their swap and just grab the ecu plugs, just look around on here i see them all the time

Well, I went to Radio Shack last night, but I couldn't find any pins like I need to do the wiring.
I guess I'll keep looking around on here.

Exactly! I can't believe we can't buy those pins anywhere. Aren't they just regular pin connectors?
I have the plugs I need for the VTEC sensors, I just need to hook a wire up to them and run them to my ECU.
I've had two people PM me already with parts. If I don't get what I need from them, I'll PM JDMlyfestyle.

Hey, I have some cut ECU plugs. Only problem is that all my parts are in storage in a friends garage right now. I'de be glad to send you a couple pins/wires in random colors. Only problem is it would take me a day or two to locate them, and another 3 days for the evelope to get to you. I know it sucks, but you caught me at an awkward time...
Just let me know which size you need (there is large & small), and how many of each...

Re: (94eg!)
I sent you a PM. I appreciate it.
When the pins get to me, I'm going to go on a wild goose chase until I find some for sale somewhere that are the same thing. I will then update this thread with what I find out so hopefully people can wire their ECUs without needing pins from a wrecked car. This stuff ain't that complicated.

i think hasport sells them i am not sure of a price but it is real easy to rip them out of a old harness http://www.hasport.com

good luck going to a honda dealer to get them. i went to honda for these pins and the guy at the parts counter looked at me funny. he tried to sell me the complete interior harness. radioshack DOES have some similar pins that will work i dont have the part # near me so PM me if you want the the number. or take a 16g wire and just stuff it through the connector it wont get yanked out and will make connection. have done this before, its ghetto i know but it works.
