Just a curious question...
But if they don't allow online ordering, and only allow phone orders...how do they give you any kind of receipt for your thousands of dollars payment?

Yeah...of course..but you obviously give them the money first, right?
Then couldn't they just charge your credit card and then not ship the motor dude?
People do it on eBay all the time.

I never got a receipt for my motor. But everything showed up in perfect condition. Hmotors is one of the better engine importers.

Steve said my motor would show up on a Monday, two weeks after I placed my order. Monday Morning, a freight truck stops by my house to drop it off.

Hmotorsonline is in my book.

Oh, tru, tru. That's what I hear. I was just curious.
I bought my motor from a friend, so I didn't have to deal with any of that. I guess i'm real paranoid about handing someone my money without some kind of collateral or guarantee that they'll give me what I paid for.
I guess I'd just need the receipt to settle my insecurity.

I would never do business with Hmotors. They took forever to send me my motor, which we had to do days of work to before we could install it. The tranny they sent me was fucked & it took a month to get a new one. Steve is a total liar & is one of the worst people I've ever dealt with in my life. Promised to send papers with the motor & didn't. He told me my motor had been sent when it hadn't. Worst experience ever!!!

I got a B16A from him and it came with a coolant leak. I thought it was a head gasket, and Steve was totally gonna take care of me. Turns out it was just a leaky thermostat housing. Hondabond

I also got a B16B from him that came with a bunk clutch. Steve sent one out for me right away and it worked like a champ.

He can't know what's wrong with every engine. Some people will inevitibly get an engine with something wrong--after all, they are used. He does his best, which is better than everyone else I've delt with.

I understand that, but what makes a company reputable or worthwhile to deal with is the way they act after a problem has been revealed. Had he been polite, professional, & willing to help me, I would not be as pissed. But he wasn't any of those things & that, to me, makes his company a BAD BUSINESS!

After this situation, I spoke to several very reputable, well-known companies in Cali & they do not consider HMotors to be a good company at all. In fact, to real companies out there, HMotors is a joke.

Just my $.02

and what do you consider to be the "real" companies?

for every 10 satisfied customers, there will always be one that was unhappy with their purchase. sorry your experience wasn't great, but we don't even know the specifics of your situation. me and my friends have had nothing but good experiences with steve, and if you look around, there aren't that many that are better.

Reputable and real, hmmmm...by whos definition? Steves done a LOT of business across the country, what are some references from the "reputable" and "real" business's you're talking about, they wouldn't happen to be his competition would they?

Sounds like an overall for HMotors.
So I think I might refer my little sister to 'em. She's looking for a CTR motor for her EK.

Thanks guys!

Like I said, I was just putting in my 2 cents. I'm not trying to start a pissing contest (especially since this is off topic), I'm just stating my experience.

If you ordered a motor & got what you wanted, then good for you. A big problem in this industry is the different treatment between men & women. I've been quoted BS, high prices on stuff before, then had a man call back for the same things & get quoted much lower. Maybe you're all men & they didn't take advantage of you the way they did me, but being a female in this industry, it's normal for companies to try to **** me over.

As far as revealing the companies I'm talking about, I'm not going to do that. All I'm going to say is they've built some of the baddest cars on the circuit. I'm inside the industry probably a lot more than most of the people on this board. I know what goes on behind closed doors. The discussions I had with the companies were in confidence & I'm not going to break their confidence because these companies have hooked me up & given me support time & time again when I needed it. They even helped me get my car right from what was fucked up from HMotors.

For the one guy that said he's going to refer his sister, BEWARE! They are one of those companies that WILL take advantage of a woman if they can.

oh wow, thats the biggest load of crap ive ever heard, you dont get shitty treatment cause your a woman, damned feminazis think everyones out to get them, and right now, im so pissed about this i dont care if im offending anyone at the moment, when i cool off then complain to me, i dont think there is any company that goes out of their way to put women down, that just makes my blood boil, cause your so caught up in your little world of fighting for something, im sure lots of females have dealt with HMO and had NO issues, and as for women getting screwed over, my friend ordered something from HMO and he got it and it didnt work right, and its a GUY, so what now? but he sent it back and they hooked him up with a new part, i have nothing else to say about this feminism bullshit

as for these companies building the baddest cars on the circuit or whatever that
crap is, hmotors doesnt build cars, they supply people with motors and any accessories they have to upgrade their car, if you want a car built, then you take it to someone else, its like comparing stop and shop to a resteraunt, one supplies, one takes those supplies and assembles it to a finished product, and you really seem to be in-the-know, so what does go on behind closed doors? honestly, enlighten me cause id really like to know, ohh i see how it is, your not going to give away the names of the companies, because it wouldnt look good for them to be trash talking another company out there, now THATS professionalism

but for those who care, ive emailed HMO about a ECONOMICS project for school and they had no problem giving me a number to call and to talk to steve about it, and they didnt even know if i was a guy or a girl, but they provided me with friendly service and support, so have your opinions, but leave this "women get unfair treatment" bullshit out of it

P.S. I use bad grammer to **** people off

I got 2 motors from him too.. Turned out to be really good motors. As usual, you're expected to find a few things that give you problems. Ours were missing a mount and an axle that needed to be repacked. Either than that, they're really good motors. We ran our SIR2 B16 without the recommended waterpump, oilpump, belt changes and it ran really good. If you're concerned with not getting a receipt, pay with a credit card. Than you'll know you got some kind of leverage.

As for woman having it harder, I agree. My girlfriend got ripped buying her wheels and getting her kit installed. If I didn't find her the right connections, It would've been ten times worst. I also agree that the Import car industry is really shady as well as a lot of the people in the show scene. Definately something I relly dislike about the import scene.
