Hmm Springs or coilovers?
So my girlfriend wants to drop her car about 2 inches. Its a 2k2 Civic Coupe with 17s on it. I want to buy her some Tein, but all she is going to be doing is driving around town. I dont want to waste my money on these.
She wants to still keep her ride quality, but lower the car 2 inches. She's not too concerned with the $$ issue, but doesnt think 1200 is worth it.
My question:
Should I buy her Coilovers, or springs? Which kind?

This is a touchy subject. Either way (springs or coilovers) you'll sacrifice ride quality. The problem is that when you lower the car the shocks get compressed as the cars weight is placed lower on them. By doing this you have less suspension travel resulting in a 'stiffer' ride. Even a drop of as little as 2'' will affect her car's ride quality. If money ain't the issue you should look into getting some shock/spring/coilover setup that has a threaded SHOCK body. NOT a threaded spring perch. That way you'll have complete and total shock travel even if the car were scraping the dirt. Just a thought. Good luck.

basically..i would invest in both shocks and springs/coilovers if i were u to maintain ride quaility..basically the only realy advantage to coilovers is ride adjustability..so just think if ur going to be lowering or raising the car in the future..and if u go coilovers..i'd recommend ground controls..i was gonan go for that until i got my H&R full set up..dont get the teins tho..jus for a daily driver car it's a waste of $$

If you get coilovers go with Ground Control, it comes with eibach springs. But i rather have springs because coilovers bounce a little.
