Re: Hlp pleaze! (EJ6HB)
The header will technically fit but theres a few things to keep in mind before putting in on.
First off the D16Y7 has its cat converter attached right under the exhaust manifold. In order to put the header on you will have to take out both the exhaust manifold and the cat converter underneath. The header will now be a direct fit however you will no long have a cat converter. Your engine check light will go on because you only have room for one sensor in the DC header.
Now... it is possible to buy a cat and attach it to the header so that you can have another sensor port and the check engine light will go out. However, because the stock cat converter is no longer where it should be your car will likely run rich (and will not pass smog). Again, you could (if you wanted) use the complete EX exhaust setup (header, cat, and cat back exhaust) because it will bolt right up; however, you will encounter a few problems when it comes to smogging your car and possibly you engine won't be running at peak power.
Hope that helps you.
