History of my EG, opinions wanted.
So i'm not sure exactly whats with my EG. I have a 92 CX. 3rd owner.
Anyways,
It has the little clock in the dash and i've gotten many comments about it...did it not come on the cx?
I also have all the buttons for cruise control (the on dash one by the dimmer lights, and the ones on the steering wheel)....i know i shouldn't have that...
Also my rear panels have speakers...and someone told me yesterday thats rare?...did that not come either?
Sorry if i sound retarded, but i'm trying to fugure out some of the history of my car. ie...dash was swapped with an SI's? etc...
thanks h-t.

you basically have a SI... i have the clock(a must!) and the buttons, but thee're just for looks, not function...
the rear speakers are rare i guess... i think they only came in the SI. as for the rest, they are pretty common.

On your door panels, most cx/dx/vx's had solid gray fabric, while the Si, or at least mine, has grey with vertical black stripes. cant think of anything else at the moment, other than the sunroof.

Hey not to rain on your parade but you have two almost identical threads. Only difference is the question.

Wasnt cruise control an option from the dealer for any model Civic you wanted to add it to? The speaker pods were always available, and of course fit all models. The clock is something some people must have, takes just a few minutes to change out.

I'm pretty sure cruise is a dealer option. and rear speakers were also, jsut most people don't buy a cx civic and fully load it.

Yea basically all of those things can be added in as dealer options, and no not ALL Si's come with the rear speakers, although all are wired for them. Good luck with the car.

check if you have rear disc brakes, if you do , then you will know that you have a true si. like people said earlier, all them little things are just options. imo just by looking at the gauge cluster, its not an si. but i may be wrong, interior, all civics are the same for interior, my si doesnt even have power windows, doorlocks.

Cruise control was not an accessory. The clock was an accessory for CX, VX, and DX models, and was standard on LX, EX, and Si models.
Also, looking for rear disc brakes will not tell you if you have an Si, since it is common for tuners to swap on rear disc brakes. The only way it can be an Si is if the 4th, 5th, and 6th characters of the VIN are "EH3."
Tell me something: was your car originally white from the factory, or has it been repainted? If it was white from the factory, it should have come with a blue interior. The only '92-95 hatchback that was sold in white with black interior was the Si; all other models in white had a blue interior. I'm betting a previous owner just swapped a complete Si black interior in (other than the gauge cluster) to get rid of the blue. Also, AFAIK all '92 CX models had vinyl seats. Does your car have vinyl seats?

Who ever had the car before you probably switched out the steering wheel. Was the car in a wreck before (maybe air bag deployed)?

^^^ that's what i'm thinking. You def do not have an Si, no sunroof, so we can agree on that. It just looks like the previous owner picked up some parts from the junkyard or dealer. And on the interior color thing. I've seen alot of differences in the 92-93 and 94-95 hatches. I know for a fact that my 95 Cx has an All Blue interior. The dash, seats, door panels, and carpet. It is all blue except for the piece that surrounds the gauge cluster.

I find this hard to belive as all hatches were prewired.
all 94-95 hatches don't have them either, because I have two friends with 94's and one with a 95.. all three didn't have rear speakers stock.
