Hissing Intake noise
I recently installed my intake, its not a name brand, just the pipe and the filter. I installed it correctly (connected pipe to throttle body with boot, opposite end of pipe to filter). There doesnt appear to be any leaks. Whenever I start my car, or when its on period, theres this loud hissing noice, a noise similar to when you spray air out of an air compressor. Everyone says its normal, but I've never heard it before. I have a d16z6, is it because its a non-name brand intake?

No, its not the throttle body. Its definitely the air filter area. Well, I'm glad to know its suppose to make that noise, if I put it wrong, it could've fucked my whole engine.

the noises you hear are exactly what honda engineers try to eliminate with the extra resonator boxes and long tubes that come stock. youve removed those pieces, so theres nothing to eliminate those sounds.

yah the hissing is normal my aem with the K&N does the same thing all the time. Its the filter.... some people say it gets annoying after a while but im still not annoyed and i have had it for like 6 months now. just turn up the radio if it bothers you... hehe

My APC :shruggs: does the same thing....its the air going through the cheap filter. I would upgrade the filter ASAP. I took off my filter one day and there was white dust in the intake pipe and TB.
Good thing my turbo is waiting. APEXi filter.
