highway stability, eg/ek vs. dc2

highway stability?
arent they on the same chassis--just different body?

my friend was telling me that the EK/EG, especially the EG, is totally not stable on the highway at 75-80 as the dc2 is.

BTW< unsafely, is it possible for a ek/eg hybrid to reach ~140 like the itrs and gsrs can...
???

MODS, please dont delete this post or the other in the ek/ek forum--im trying to get answers from both sides.

They are the same basic design with mouning points about the same, but aerodynamically, they are different.

Your friend is full of poopy. Stock, my EH2 reached 100mph safely. Since I've gone to the dark side of hybrid and forced induction, we've reached 130mph on the back stretch of VIR with THE WINDOWS DOWN with no difficulty.

Yes.

What the DC2 has that the EH2's lack, to some extent, is downforce on the rear wheels. Most high speed drivers (including me) solve this by installing a rear "duckbill". This isn't so much a safety issue, but a cornering issue. If the rear wheels step out at 80, it's still controllable, but you lose speed.

This is my $0.02

a GSR on average is 500 lbs heaver than a hatch...THATS what makes the GSR feel more solid at high speeds.
