I have a 98 civic with 296,600 miles and commute every day in it. Still runs great...and have only done regular maintenance plug timing belt and CV axle. indication of making quality a priority in manufacturing.

I answered for my Civic, which isn't really DD anymore...and wouldn't quite count anyway. Some moron rebuilt it and then their rebuild failed, epically at that. I had both a cracked sleeve and a broken ring land on a piston...in another cylinder. I think I had some detonation going on.

235K 94 civic dx sedan. Runs great. All OEM.

Last edited by ted_garlock; 11-12-2009 at 04:15 PM. Reason: It's actually 235k not 245, but it is all stock.

my DD is a 96 DX with 78xxx miles..

a month ago, this family who drove out from oklahoma in their big Dodge Ram with that crazy engine said they had over 3 million miles and they only change their oil, filters.. etc etc, nothing to do with the engine at all.

An old co-worker of mine bought a 96-ish hatch from a medical supply company. They used it to commute from Spokane to Seattle (250 miles or so) three times a week for years. I think he bought it with over 300k on it, all stock, and he's been driving it with the same motor-trans for a couple years since then.
