Default high squeel when turning the steering wheel

Whenever i turn the wheel, i can hear a high pitched squeal. Much like a disk brake squeal. It does so even if the car is on but not moving. What is my problem?

I have a del sol with power steering btw.

check the fluid and the belt tensioner, btw, just FYI, it's bad for ur power steering system if u turn the wheel while the car isn't moving, like from a dead stop.....that's just an FYI I heard from a possibly (usually pretty) credible source, just moving 1mph and turning it eliminates this...iono, threat? whatever, that's just an FYI, check the fluid, check the tensioner, (it's not a belt noise is it?) - The pump could be going

no...they did not make PS for grannys and their buicks...they made PS for the obvious reason...to make the steering wheel easier to turn, I'm just stating what I've heard, that it's supposedly really hard on the PS if u turn the wheel from a dead stop oppose to moving a bit....but sometimes u need to if ur parallel parkin gor something
