Default High Rev at Startup

Hey everyone I just changed out my Edelbrock Victor X on my 99 LX LS/VTEC to the stock GSR intake manifold. I went down the instructions and did it by the book making sure I did everything in order. Now when I start the car it went up to 5000rpm but the throttle pedal or cable do not move unless I push the gas. I used a new gasket on the Manifold and the Throttle Body and made sure every bolt was tightened down. Some of the vacuum lines I'm not sure about but I don't see how criss crossing a line would cause such a High Idle. I know this has happened to people before and I just need some feedback as to what to check as far as the intake runners line and FPR line.

Are you sure your throttle cable is hooked up to your throttle body correctly? Sounds like its opening it when it should be closed.

I pulled the intake tube off and looked while a friend started the car because that was my first though and that's what I wanted it to be seeing as it would be an easy fix

this sounds crazy... is it steady idle at 5k or is it jumping... i took off my IM to do a catch can and when i put it back on i didnt clean the surfaces good enough and it did something similar....i had to take the IM off again and clean the head and manifold with a razor blade. put it back on prblem fixed

could you have done the same thing or maybe cracked a vacuum line in the process

You've got air getting around the TB plate somewhere. Start the car and spray some starting fluid around the gaskets. Make sure to check the runner-to-plenum gaskets since you didn't have those with the previous IM. Try plugging the FITV hole, the IACV hole and both while the car is running. Pinch off each vacuum line in turn as well while the car is running. GL
