high rev on start up?
i searched for this one, i swear . .
okay when i turn the car over in the morning it idles to about 1500-1700
i let it sit for a bit and it still does it (5 minutes)
so i take it out slow, shifting ever 3500, and about 15 minutes later it sits @ 1000
is that normal for a b16a2? (bout 110k miles)
p.s. i can't wait for the k20 swap
thanks guys

well i was gonna say it just has to warm untill u said u drove it for 15 mins. unless your exagerating it should have warmed up. how long does it take to idle normal

when the motor is cold, it automatically has a higher idle rpm than normal to warm up quicker.
once the normal operating temprature has been reached the motor automatically should return to normal idle.
to check just start the car and let it idle at 2,500+- without driving to make sure once normal temprature has been reached the idle recedes to normal.

you really should let your car warm up a bit before actually taking off.
if you take off when its cold, you should baby your car until its warmed up.
