High Mileage Engine Oil
Hey I did a search on Engine Oil but couldnt come up with anything specific enough.
My car is a 2000 Civic Hatchback DX. I bought it with 273,xxx on it and it currently has 275,xxx. I wanna know if using a high mileage specific oil would be wise or maybe a more viscous oil (like going from 5 weight to 10 weight) from honda or would changing to synthetic be good?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sev.

Why fix something that ain't broke.
Keep using dino oil. There's nothing wrong with it. Spend your money on something else.

Re: High Mileage Engine Oil (NinetySevenDC2)
The high mileage oil is supposed to have a larger portion of detergents, slightly more zinc, and an additive that swells the oil seals slightly to prevent and stop leaks. If you switch to using it, don't ever go back to using a non-high mileage oil.
Only move to a thicker weight if it's burning oil.
