High idle when IACV plugged in

I am having a idle problem in my 97 civic with gsr swap. I'm sure its a problem with the iacv cause with it plugged in it idles at almost 2000 rpm. Then I cover the port on the tb and it idles perfect like normal then if i unplug it the idle goes down and jumps. So is this a bad iacv?

Why don't you at least try cleaning it before contemplating the replacement.

Yes, this is very common. Remove the IACV, take it apart and clean it.

Retrieve trouble codes if any.

if you cover the whole t/b does the car die ? check throttle cable adjustment ,idle air bleed screw, and throttle stop(do not adjust this) if there all ok replace iacv

What CEL codes are thrown? Does the CEL work? This could be caused by a dirty IACV or also by a faulty ECT sensor or TPS.

Hand over throttle body and the car completely dies. Throttle cable, idle air bleed screw and throttle stop are all good. So I am leaning towards a bad IACV

No CEL what so ever and I said that I tried to clean it already. Replaced the ECT sensor with another one I had laying around and same result. Haven't repaced the TPS yet, but I do have another TPS.

I've heard of people soaking their IACVs when they're too lazy to disassemble them, but depending on what you're soaking it in the IACV can get damaged.
