High idle upon start up
I understand vehicles rev high when you start them, I don't have a tach but can bet this is somewhere around 2-2500 RPM when I first start it.. Is that normal? any adjustments for the d15b7

Re: High idle upon start up
the Idle when warm is definitely lower, Guessing around 1-1500.
rides and idles smooth regardless But I also have not checked for vaccum leaks yet.
I don't have an OBD1 scanner to check for codes, no MIL.
edit: This has been happening since I bought it 2 months ago, the only Thing I did to it to try to fix it
was a new valve cover gasket (was oozing alittle anyways)
replaced that just incase needed new seals, aswell as modded the inake box/cleaned TB and am now getting 50mpg.

Re: High idle upon start up
You can't use a code reader to pull OBD1 codes. You just need a paperclip.
Does the CEL work? Click the codes link in my signature.
Also clean the IACV and FITV. If the problem continues, adjust the idle speed (see diagram in FAQs sticky.

Re: High idle upon start up
I will have to clean the IAC, looks like it won't want to come off though. The screws are pretty well rusted. Thanks for the useful tips!
and yes the MIL works.
