High Idle Problem...GSR TB on Z6 IM...Need explanation
Alright...I heard that you can put a B-Series or H-Series TB on a SOHC to gain some performance without buyin an aftermarket TB. I bought a GSR TB off a friend of mine, and installed it on my D16Z6. After my friend bolted it on and started it...the Idle stayed up in the 2k range. We adjusted the Idle Bolt on the TB...but the lowest we could get it to is 1500 RPM. There is one vacum line not connected that we plugged with a bolt. It's the one that goes to the top fitting on the Z6 TB...on a GSR engine...this line is connected on top of the Intake manifold. When I asked the guy at Kragens (modifies Hondas/Acuras), he said it was just an emissions line and not to wory about it. So how do I get the idle back to normal? Or do I have to get another B-series TB other than a GSR?

Yeah...I have a brand new gasket. Also I'd like to note that the RPM's fluctuate when I start up the car. It will rev up and down for about a min.

yeah, the TPS sensor and the MAP sensor have the same style/type plug... its possible that you have those two mixed, and plugged into the wrong sensors...
just a thought...
edit: also, a fluctuating idle usually indicates a loose/improper vacuum line.. gotta get that one fixed! is the motor throwing codes?

Well...the check engine light isn't on, and from how the plugs went in...I don't think they could go the other way cause the wires aren't long enough. As for the vacum line that goes to the top of the TB...where can I plug it into to keep the vacum? Could the TPS sensor be bad (I'm assuming thats the sensor on the firewall side)? What does that big canister on the firewall do anyways?

Is the IAC the Screw on the top of the TB that you adjust the idle? (Sorry...I'm kinda new to hondas...I've only owned Nissans and Mitsubishis up until 2 months ago)
Another friend of mine has a GSR TB...I think I'll see if the problem keeps happening.

Re: (H23 EG Hybrid)
im not to familiar with the z6(not sure if its the 92-95 or 96 + motors) but with the b series, 94-95 IM must go with 94-95 TB.... and same with 96+ the reason is that the 94-95 has two holes in the TB(look through it) and the 96+ has only one hole... thats why it wont idle.....
my cousin has that same problem.... he has a 96 IM with 95 TB.......if you wanna trade PM me.. i am almost certain that its your problem....
