Default High Idle, Please Help

well I have a b18b (95 LS) in a 96 civic hatchback and decided to change my intake manifold gasket last week and for some reason my car is reving at 2,000 rpm until now. I double check everything and even replace the intake manfold gasket twice! but still no luck and then i thought it was my throttle body cable so i went off and took it off with the car running thinking that the cable was too tight still no luck. I tried cleaning the fitv and even replace it and no luck there. So my last two options were maybe it was my map sensor or my ICV so i went out and clean and replace those and still NOTHING CHANGE, and I've already check all the hose. So please any suggestions? Please feel free to bump

run the car and spray brake cleaner over areas of the IM that you suspect mite be causing a vacuum leak. the idle should drop a bit once you spray over the leaking areas...

Did you bleed the cooling system when you were done? coolant flows through the IACV and if theres air in it will idle high and or erratically.

did you tighten down all nuts and bolts to the right torque specs and in the right order? failing to do so will result in spiratic idling issues as you mentioned... check all hoses as well, could be some other sort of vacum leak

why did you "DECIDE" to change your intake manifold gasket in the first place? what problem was there that you thought changin the gasket would help?

my intake manifold gasket was worn so I decided to do a huge maintenance but it ended up to being a big mistake and now I'm stuck with my car idle ling at 2,000 rpm. I been driving like this for a week now and is irritating me like hell. As far as I'm concern when I accelerate idle drop and then goes back up for some reason. I really appreciate all he help from everyone. If any one have any other suggestions please feel free to bump.

hmm. maybe you have a vacuum leak and you hit your tps somewhere making it not calibrated anymore. check that. But might as well pull off you fitv and screw the plastic thing in the middle all the way in.

On the back of the throttle body theres a gold plate with phillips screws 8mm will work also take that off and theres a white plastic nut check if its loose if so tighten that up as tight as u can, idle should go back to normal. if it continues to happen later then the screw came loose again, so then take a tin soda can and block off the port between the throttle body and the valve that bolts on there, then u'll never idle high again.

I started the car up. What do you know high idle at about 2000 rpms. I have tried a few different things to make it go down and nothing. I can blip the throttle and it will idle down for a split second and then right back to anywhere from 1600-2000 rpms. I knew this would happen before I even started this swap of manifolds. Anyone else had this problem yet and if so what did you do to solve the problem?

did u scrape off all of the old pieces of the previous gasket? a little material between the new gasket and the head could cause a leak.. double check your hoses.. and how high is this idle that we're talking about
