high idle and now no-start...
95 civic hatch
d16z6, fresh rebuild (tt rods, srp pistions, je rings, acl bearings, t3/t4 .57 trim 60/63, GE block guard, new timing belt, new water pump, new oiil pump, etc...)
crome basemap from xenocron
2.5 bar map
Walbro 255
No CEL
I haven't driven my car since I got it running (last summer), since I just want to get the project completely finished before I drive it, so the engine has been ran for a total of probably 45 minutes since the rebuild last spring. Car runs like a champ, 60 psi oil pressure, 18 in/hg vacuum, but retarded high idle. Ever since I got it running it's had an 1800 rpm idle. Today I decided to try and figure it out...I swapped out the IAC with one I had laying in my garage, same thing. I tried to disconnect the MAP to see if that would drop the idle, and the car wouldn't start at all, just cranked and bucked a little, but wouldn't actually start and run. I reconnected the MAP and now the car starts, revs up to 3500ish then dies. Ever since the start/die problem the IAC makes a high pitched whining noise any time the key is on. I'm going to put the old IAC back on in the morning and see if it will at least run again (and not whine). I'm also going to double check my MAP wiring and check my TPS. Other than this does anyone have any other ideas?
