high hc's need help
i just recently tried to pass my car for registration at a state ref and i had high hydrocarbons(sp)? any of you smog pros out there know how i can lower my hc's??? b18c1 in a cx, btw....

stock b18c1 in a 94CX. all sensors hooked up, no codes, stock in/ex manifolds, passed visual... all stock. just high hc's.

What is your timing set at. Trying retarding the hell out of it. I mean all the way. It'll run like crap on the way there, but is easily fixable. Also do you have a breather on your valve cover? If you do, pull it off and put the tube running to the intake back on. Just some thoughts as this is what I had to do to pass my emmissions test.

timing is set to stock (16degrees) and no breather. everything is all stock. the old guy who runs the ref station wasn't there but instead a new rookie. he said to try an oil change???
