If I'm not mistakened, most aftermarket cats are built using a Carsound cat. As long as the welds are good and it doesnt' rust apart its good. I was running a ctr/itr cat on my car when I had my ctr header. I had to get a short 5" extension made to get it to fit. It worked fine until I melted the cat I like the SMS cat. I think they go for around 160 bucks or so.

i have the random cat, only problem i had with it was apparently i got it pretty hot and poped off one of the spot welds that holds down this weak *** little heat shield on top of it so it had a MEAN MEAN rattle for a few weeks till i put it up on a lift and broke it the rest of the way off.

I am waiting for my SMPS cat to come in. It was 200 shipped. I think its a carsound cat just that Dave puts some extra welds on it.
