Re: (98_4drCivic)
you cant or shouldnt use OEM headlights for HID retrofit, the lenses are fluted/fresnel. the lines you see on the inside of the lense will distort light. get some aftermarket projector headlights for HID retrofit.

Yes i have done it and they are great projectors. but they can be difficult to work with because the cutoff is soo touchy it has to be aligned perfectly.

Just to let you know.. you can use your stock lights.. The fluted lenses will cause the cutoff to not be as crisp as non-fluted lenses, but it wont make them blind everyone or anything.
And you can use any projectors with non-fluted, clear glass/plastic.

you can consider finding -bionic- on here. or go to http://www.customlightz.com. Some of the best out there, and very well worth waiting for.

I havent seen his work personally.. but $250+ for labor and you still have other options as to painting the housings ECT.
I charge MAX is $200 and that is for Housings that i havent messed with yet.
Most Retrofits i are $150 labor and that includes paint, Shouds and Trimming.

so the stock fluted lenses wont affect the cut-off at all?

No.. I did not say that at all. Yes, it will affect the cut-off, and it will make the light out-put worse than with non-fluted lenses. However, this will still be 500 times better than the stock lighting.
Non-Fluted is the way to go, if you can. However, it is not something you HAVE to do. Any retrofit done correctly will have amazing results regardless of fluted or non-fluted lenses, but non-fluted lenses are preferred and all around better to use.
