HID QUESTION ASAP
I have h4 housing and got a nissan hid kit. Got everything in there. Do i have to use or i guess make a shield. Or can i use just the bulb in there. Just dont want to high beam people. I have DsR blubs so they are blackened out and the base. But i am not sure if i need a shield or not.

Re: HID QUESTION ASAP (97redex)
If you are NOT going to retrofit OEM HID projectors...you will need casper shields even with the d2R bulb. You will still have WAY to much glare w/out a casper shield see here
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=457095
http://www.casperselectronics.com/ has these shields which allow you to use a OEM HID bulb (d2r/d2s) in a h4 housing...otherwise you would have to make a custom base for the d2s/d2r bulb in order for it to fit in a h4 housing (ie casper shield will fit a OEM HID base on the inside & on the outside has the grooves to fit a h4 housing)
you can always make you own outta a soda can
BUT -
this set up will not compare to a projector retrofit - I suggest Hella Bi-Xenon (see Jon V's link) to keep the use of high beams (which you lose when switching to a regular projector or reflective retrofit, like you are in the process of)

Re: HID QUESTION ASAP (adirondackR)
Instead of the casper shields, you can use the outer ring from your h4 bulb, just take the ring off , take your time and apply something to keep it on the d2s bulb like glue etc.
