Default Hi Guys! Bought a Civic/Got a quick question

Hi everyone I'm new here just bought a 1998 Civic 4 dr. Did some searching and couldn't find my answer so here goes.

I got the car with 80,000 miles on it. 10,000 miles later (2 days ago) I replaced the timing belt / water pump. When I was done with the job I triple checked the timing marks and what not. The car ran just fine for a day and the CEL popped up, P0171 (Honda code 45) " Fuel system lean "

I rechecked everything today and couldn't find any loose vaccum lines. I did a full tune up as it needed it, everything looked original. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter. Set ignition timing to 12 degrees. Cleared codes. Went driving. At the end of the day same code popped up.

Here are my observations. The engine temps are hovering around 95 degrees C, that seems hot and the fan stays on quite often. The upstream 02 is barely switching, it just sits at around 0.485 volts. Should I change the upstream 02?

Or is there something I goofed up when I did the timing belt that I can't seem to put my finger on. Could air be leaking in from under the air filter housing? I'm stumped , lol. I've changed 4 or 5 Honda timing belts for friends and this didn't happen before.

Thanks in advance for any help.

i am having the same problem on my 97 with a b20 swap. Did a timing belt while the motor was on the stand locked the cam gears with zip ties and they did not move. But when I was setting the tension on the belt it seemed as if the belt sliped a tooth don't know if it did for sure. I did check marks and all and they looked good but still have that thought in my head. I havent checked ign. timing yet but have lean code, but plugs look good slight brownish tint.??? Gas mileage sucks too about 20 mpg getting on it or not

I rechecked the timing belt today, it is on correct.
The only thing that comes to mind is I checked the air filter. Could I have accidentally moved the plastic housing or something on the throttle body? If air is leaking it could cause a lean condition as the MAF is not metering it.

I'm so confused? Anybody have any idea at all why a code P0171 (Honda code 45) would get thrown after doing a timing belt and water pump replacement?
