Re: (sheepeg3)
what size motor does your car have. the displacement means a lot to the size of the turbo. it is good that you have a p&p head, that will help the flow so a bigger turbo can be used. you might could honestly get away with a t04e, or a hybrid. i am not sure how quick people with your setup are getting their cars to boost. you dont want to small because you want to run lots of pressure and you dont want to big because you want to be able to spool quickly. also, an 11.3, although pretty quick, is not near fast enough to claim fastest street civic on the entire east coast. he is fast, but not that fast. 10 sec. hondas are becoming more and more popular today. a naturally aspirated 11.3 in a street civic would be more impressive

14 psi isnt ****. you can run that on stock ls's and b20s, not for long but you can

I'm sorry sweetie, but your ZX2 isn't going to handle anything past 10psi MAX without doing internal modification. 18-20 on the track, I'll pray for you not to blow your motor.

i agree.
fords suck (even ford knows this but they welcome the free advertisement on the news every year when theres a recall)
atleast she wants to add a turbo and then have it blow up, and watch out for the gas leak.

Re: (Boosted05)
thats hard to believe that he ran 11.3 on street tires boosting 40 lbs. my homie from OVER REV, boosting only 16lbs ran 11.5 in a del slow. and there is no way you can boost 40lbs on the street. not even if your fully sleeved and built, you don't have to make up story's to get some help on here. lol it's cool I know you just want to build your car, but just ask. first of all if your going to boost like 18to 20 lbs on the track, you need to have it built, and that's not just rods, and pistons, you need to get your block sleeved, there's no way that you can boost 20lbs on the track and not be sleeved and still be a daily driver. and if you do try it, with out the sleeves you won't last 2 months tops (if your lucky). after you built your bottom end, you need to up grade your fuel and eng. man. sym. go with AEM, they mite make it for your car, and need to buy some 710 rc injectors, and go with a t3/4 ball bearing turbo,(and not those cheap piece of crap ones with the inter. waste gate, take that **** off if it has one) and don't forget you need to get, all the piping,inter-cooler,fmu,missing link, waste gate, blowoff valve, oil line that you need to run in the back of your block to turbo, oil return line, and you need to tap your oil pan for the oil return line, and don't forget the boost gauge and controller, and turbo timer if you want your turbo to last. make sure you take it to some that know what the F*** there doing, cuz a small F*** up can cost you your motor, and all that **** will not cover in you warranty, good luck

While I respect the fact that this is indeed Honda-tech and that this is a Civic forum if we can help her we should. I doubt there are very many Escort forums. There are some very knowledgeable people here that can help her.

I agree, fords sucks....But for now its all I have so it will have to do, I frequent ford forums alot and those guys dont know wtf they are talking about, my friend has a turbo zx2 but it doesnt run right, mainly because of crappy tuning, anywho, he is running 19 psi and on race gas he has 320 to the wheels, right now in its current state with 93 he is running about 220 to the wheels, which still, isnt bad, but yea fords are junk but I didnt come here to get flamed so help is appreciated, and I am going to do extensive internal work to the car, the stock pistons are pretty strong though...Anyways, the guy with the civic, he has dont a shitload of stuff to that engine, I just dont know what, it is a 2000 escort, 2.0dohc zetec, its a pretty decent car, oh and btw, thanks to the ppl that tried to answer my question...

I've seen some boosted zx2 and they are respectable motors. They aren't honda motors, but they are still respectable motors.
You might find that http://www.homemadeturbo.com will be a more resourceful site for your needs girl. Although there are quite a few honda users on that board, there are few gear heads on there who will be able to help you around domestic engines as well...

being a former zx2 owner, you need to head over to http://www.teamzx2.com and check out the forums. lots of smart people and lots of good info. secondly, zetec is just a block designation and while the blocks are similar between the focus and the zx2, they are not the same engines. the zetec responds very well to boost and is quite a respectable motor under higher power levels.
if you want more info, head on over to teamzx2 and check out the forced induction forums.
this is honda-tech and alot of people on here like to bash other makes. it happens everywhere but you can get more specialized info over there.

You need to keep posting. But your limit is 5 posts a day. But the guys you need to talk to are in the forced induction forum. Go in there and they will be more helpful to you. Not sure if you can get into that forum until you have some more posts under your belt though.

You will have better luck in the Forced Induction forum, but they still may give you **** for having an Escort.
I honestly doubt your friend is running 40 psi. I think you misheard him. There is no real benefit to runnning that high of boost, especially on the street.

11.3 with 40 lbs, thats just ridicoulsy slow . i know of guys with no MAJOR motor work done to their civic with a b series and running low / mid 13s all day
adding 40 lbs of boost onto that should EASILY go below 10s all day
well i duno what to say?
got pics of yourself or the car??

So first your motor was built then it wasn't. I guess you bought the je pistons and realized how strong the stock ones were and decided to stick with those.
What a dumb ****
I suppose there is no way you can provide any dyno for all of these numbers you are throwing around. I bet Howard is out of town.

Re: (Dengar)
Alright just in case your serious about this there is a website called STANGNET.COM. They used to have a focus only link if they dont have it any more check out the 2.3 turbo\NA mustang forum and those guys can help you out with the turbo stuff, they specalize in mustangs but do a lot of work on focuses. I only know this because I used to race a 86 SVO mustang (2.3L turbo) and I still race my 91 GT at the strips. So I still check in with those guys when I have tech tips. And before anybody starts crying and bitching I also drive a 93 b16 coupe to work everyday and race a 92 GSR hatch. But I'm sure I will still hear crap from some of you.
