Hey, new girl here, turbo help please.....

Hello all I am new here...I have an escort ZX2 S/r wth a good bit of mods...Hopefully this weekend or next I will get my turbo and put it on, my friend says I should get a t3 turbo and I just wanted everyones opinion....I am going to run about 12psi on the streets and about 18-20 at the track, what would be the best turbo for me? Btw, I dont know if anyone is in the md/va/wv area, but my friend has the fastest civic hatch on the east coast...Runnin almost 40 psi on the streets...Just thought some of you may know him.....Thanks,
*April*

hahaha is this a joke? this is for hondas, not fords https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emhammer.gif . can a ZX2 even handle 20 psi? and what setup does your friend have to be running 40 psi??

yeah, this is rediculous. i assume it is a stock motor that has the typical air filter and fart can. i am not familiar with these motors being that this is a honda forum but I would assume that they would not be able to handle more than 12 lbs of boost. also, 40 psi is a lot, especially on the street. and to claim you have the fastest civic on an entire coast is pretty bold. also, i dont know of any t3 turbos that run 20 psi very efficiently. and good luck finding an exhaust manifold

Sell your car, and buy a Honda. Or find a good Ford forum to answer all your questions.

Its probably a completely factory Civic running a Tornado Fuel Saver device. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

Get a T3/4 hybrid turbo and find a really good shop and have an exhaust manifold made. You are going to need a lot of internal work too. IMO its not worth it except for the sleeper factor.

yeah, sorry to flame you. if you really want that boost, just do a t3/t4 hybrid like everyone with hondas does, they work pretty well for making decent power

Whats going on today? There have been two different topics created by women posting stupid shit.

Boosted05 07-27-2004 10:36 AM

Had no clue you guys would be so mean, I dont need to have a Honda to run a t3 turbo, I just didnt know what size turbo to run, like if a t3 would be too small or if I would need a t40e....I was just asking, and I have a Ported and polished head, crower rods, je pistons, the whole rotating assembly is balanced, adjustable cam gears...Just basic stuff for now, and yes, it can hold 18-20 psi, I have about 180 to the wheels now which is pretty good for an escort....But if you wanan help me than fine, if not, please keep your comments to yourself, and as for my friend, he gets tuned at ar fabrication in winchester,va, his video from the track this weekend wil be online soon....He ran an 11.3 on street tires, I will let everyone know when the video is up...

sheepey 07-27-2004 10:38 AM

we dont mean to be rude. To be honest maybe the only reason u got neg. feedback is because IT IS a honda site and we know hondas girl...

I was watching Civics running 9.5's yesterday on SPIKE. But as for your question it has been answered, you need something bigger than a t3.

POE 07-27-2004 10:39 AM

sheepey 07-27-2004 10:40 AM

i should hope 40 psi would be alot faster then that in the 1/4. And thats not the fastest honda on the eastcoast

Boosted05 07-27-2004 10:43 AM

Hey thats what Howard(the guy that tuned it) said.....

Re: (Boosted05)

Maybe 14psi. No way a Civic could handle that much without EXTENSIVE internal work. What year Escort do you own anyway?
