Default hey need to find out something once and for all...

my honda civic has no specific EX, DX, LX, or Si symbol to dictate what motor it has underneath the hood...i know that my motor is 1.6 ltrs, but besides that nothing else can help me and i already checked the posts on this site nothing has helped me so far. Also theres something that puzzles me...my Civic has 4-wheel disc brakes...something I've never seen on a stock Civic before. I bought this from my coworker and he didnt have anything that say "modifications" on his car...did those brakes come stock or did somebody add those on?

pop the hood and look on the block right here and that will tell you what engine you have

sounds like you have a 95 EX with 4whl disc breaks and d16z6 engine. It is a 1.6l SOHC factory rated at 125hp/106tq

EJ1
USDM
Civic EX coupe
1.6L SOHC VTEC - D16Z6 - 125hp@6600rpm - 106ft/lbs@5200rpm
produced 94-95
runs from a P28 ECU

rear disk standard, sunroof optional.

BUT swaps are super common these days. do like tallyturbo said and check the engine code.... then again that only means the block....

the disc brakes are not standard on a 95 civic ex. I have drums in the rear. I believe you only get discs in the rear if you have abs.

Si's of that year are only available in hatchback (92-95)... The EX coupe has the same engine as the Si.

I don't know 100% on whether the EX coupes all came with disc or drum standard but I have an Si hatchback and I know 4 wheel disc was standard on 92-95 hatches... My impression was that the EX coupes were basically pretty much an Si in a coupe body. But you lucky EX coupe bastards had power windows and door locks.

According to his vin, it has ABS which is why it has rear disks.

you have an EX-S. which is the same thins as an EX but with ABS=4 wheel disk breaks. the d16z6 is available in the EX, SI, and the EX-S which is what you have EX=D16Z6=front disk and SI=d16z6=all disk breaks EX-S= d16z6=all disk breaks and ABS
