hey guys need your opinion and insight on code23 (KS)
got a question for you tech guys-
-swapped a '95 b18c1 into my '94 civic si hatch
-wired up only my knock sensor(from what i hear you can also wire up the IAB-i have no idea what that is by the way)
-ive checked the continuity and the wiring and the wire and the knock sensor is hooked up fine but the CEL still comes on with code 23 (knock sensor)
-motor has 90xxx miles on it, obd1 and no evidence of actually knocking-i.e. no knocking sound.
now my question is-
when my knock sensor goes off does that mean the motor itself is knocking? or does that mean the sensor itself needs to be replaced. i have a replacement one at hand but it would save me a lot of work if i knew whether or not i have a serious porblem at hand if my motor is actually knocking.
from what i have been interpreting from various info sources on the web and elsewhere, the code 23 means to replace the faulty sensor-and that the motor is not actually knocking.
could you guys give me some insight to what i can do and if i should have my car taken to a professional if it actually is knocking.

code 23 mean knock sensor is not hooked up or broken sensor! engine knocking happens all the time, but will not throw CEL. now go fix your sensor

yay! thanx for the info! all this time i was worrying that something was wrong with the motor, after all i did get it from a salvaged gsr that has trans damage after the woner plwoed through a light pole. the guy hit the pole so hard it disintergrated the front bumper and radiator support. but i mean i cant complain i only picked up the motor for 800 bucks complete. well, without a working trans. well thanx again for your input!
