hey guys im throwin out smoke when the vtec open..advice please?
hey i got a b18c5 engine in my car and i have to change the piston rings. im throwing out too much smoke when i open the vtec. now im planning on boosting and i was wondering if yall can give me some advice on what i should do since im in there changin the rings. shudd i keep the stock pistons since im boosting? what else is nesessary to change for better performance?im planning on throwing a vortech supercharger in there, or i wanted to turbo but i only wanna boost like 10lbs max. can someone help me out on what i shudd do to begin? thanx alot for all input.

you cant say u wanna boost 10 lbs. 10 lbs on a T4 will be a lot more stressful on the engine than a say K03 would be. you rate it by horsepower. Horse power goals will help those familiar with the b18's suggest pistons and other things you might need to accomplish your goals safely.
But if your boosting and ur gunna have the pistons out anyway, i'd say bearings will be a smart idea (considering mileage since last rebuild) and lower compression pistons maybe. or just spacing the head. I really have not done any research on b series engines but give someone more details on your power goals and budget and i'm sure atleast one or two of all the posts will be helpful. This is honda-tech afterall...

Re: (ek9tl)
You should downgrade your pistons to PR3s or P72s. 10psi of boost or .7 Bar would probably yield an effective compression ratio of 14.5 on your ITR pistons and 14:1 on your PR3s/P72. If you're looking for a NICE kit for CHEAP, hit me up!
