I have a 93 civic ex that i bought about a month ago. Whenever I go to start it when the engines cold it cranks over for awhile then sputters. It starts eventually after a few 5 second cranks and if i pump the gas it starts better. After the first initial start it fires right up until it sits for awhile then the same thing happens. I live in Mn and am trying to fix this before it gets much colder.

its just really really cold... i have same problem when i leave my car out really long in the winter...

so just try it in your garage if you have one...

try to get better higher degree spark plug and wire that will have a higher temp in the cylinder.... bigger brighter the spark plug in winter its better ;]

doesnt matter what the temp is outside. Still has the same issue.

any CEL ? i think its the spark plugs, you know how old they are?

could be the spark plugs fouled up

when was your last tune up?

yeah i guess that would make sense, ive had the car for about a month and havent done one and im guessing the guy i bought it from wasnt the best at keepin up with that. Ill give it a shot and let ya know the results!

k, it may just need spark plugs, just take one out and see how fouled up they are
