Here's a question - will US odometer swap into JDM cluster?

Would I be able to swap out the odometer from my US cluster into a JDM cluster? And if so, what is it that determines whether an odometer reads miles or km? Would a JDM cluster with a US odometer still read miles?

Or should I just not worry about it?

When I say odometer, I mean the entire assebly behind the guage face.

pdiggitydogg 08-07-2004 08:35 AM

arent the faces reversed? Trip and odo placement I mean.
If thats the case then it couldnt work...I think

You should be able too. Not 100% sure but it should work, but I believe the JDM face is kmh. Just do the swap and see what happens... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (Split Image Prez)

The speedo needle should be calibrated the same, just the guage face is different. My only concer is the odometer. Will it turn in KM's or miles?

yes itll work and itll read miles. since it has the miles gear in it for the vss. i forgot who did it but someone had the us odometer and the rest eg6 cluster. i believe it was in a honda tuning. ill look a little later. and post pics.

pdiggitydogg 08-07-2004 09:02 AM

maybe that was ek's...I know one of them is reversed. oh well

Re: (BrewerHatch)

im not sure if i understand your plan here but i think you are going to swap out your entire US speedo/odometer assy into your JDM cluster.... i doubt this will work, its the printed circuit behind the cluster that determines whether the odometer reads in mph or kmh. Also your needle will not be reading mph accurately.

you could swap printed circuits as well as speedos and that would work, but be careful when swappin printed circuit because they are easy to fuck up. i over-torqued the screws https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif

Re: (DxHatchback)

It works fine. You can swap all the gauges out, just did it for my friends broken gas gauge. The only thing you might run into a problem with is the DC2 94-97, and DC2 98-01. You will need to find a matching year for those. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (2.0L EK)

negative
1 st off there are no screws on thye face of the jdm eg6 cluster ,
when there are on the usdm. So how can you change km to mph when it will snap i tried and it cant be done Maby jdm gsr are diffrent but jdm eg will not

Re: (JESUSDREAD)

I'm pretty sure everyone is talking about swapping out the entire gauge not just the face. Swapping out the face would make no sense, the MPH and KPH are in completely different locations

Re: (2.0L EK)

if you want a black guage in the middle go for it
infact you gonna have to use your usdm cluster housing & switch every part (meaning)remove pins w fork and use jdm faces w usdm backing in side a usdm cluster and cut where your milage will fit !
id just rather roll in km and w a srs light attached!

Brewmaaaaan

just buy some APC white gauge faces https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif you'll be set https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (2.0L EK)

Haha, I was only talking about swapping the odometer assembly behind the guage face. JESUSDREAD brought up a good point:

Looks like it's a no go.

.BigSexy 08-09-2004 09:11 AM

just remeber the conversion factor, alot easier to deal with IMHO, 1 mile=1.609 km

Brewer 08-09-2004 09:17 AM

Re: (egcoupe94)

The whole point is that I have a zero-mile US odometer waiting to go in with my new motor
