Helping A Friend. Need Torque Spec!!!
Hi, I'm trying to help a friend out. Her harmonic balancer has a loose bolt and it obviously needs to be tightened, but i dont have any desire to go buy a haynes manual for a car thats not mine (and she doesnt have one) and that I'll only need once. Can some one help me out?

Do you mean the crank pulley? On Civics at least, I think that the harmonic balancer *IS* the crank pulley.
If that's the case, it should be the equivalent of about 134ft/lbs on pretty much all Civics. On my B-series manuals, it says 135, but on the 96-00 Civic manual I just checked, it says 90 degrees past 14ft/lbs, which is probably close to the same thing. To clarify, the manual says to tighten it to 14ft/lbs, mark it with a Sharpie, and then turn it 90 degrees past the mark.
Strangely, the 92-95 Civic manual says 134ft/lbs also, and those engines are similar enough to the 96-00 as not to matter in my opinion. I'd say that 135-ish is just fine for all D and B series engines.
It is keyed - hopefully the key didn't come out and get lost. Also, you'll need something (there's technically a special tool) to hold the pulley from turning the engine over while you tighten/loosen it. You're also supposed to lubricate the threads with engine oil.
