Hey bro, I can tell you with a high level of confidence that the plug pictured is for either an ABS unit or some sort of A/C relay or something. I had left over plugs when I did my OBDII ITR swap into my 1992 Civic - I made it OBDI as well by running a re-chipped P28, and I kept the stock 1998 ITR engine harness.

Everything important plugs up, and what's left should just be tucked away.

As for the exact pin outs for your swap, try a search here and see what pops up.

That plug with the three wires is not necessary for your swap to run. Here are what the wires are for:

Red - EVAP purge solenoid
wht/red - CKF
blu/red - CKF

The CKF is not needed for your OBD1 ECU. The EVAP purge solenoid is not necessary for the car to run and is used for emissions purposes.

To make the IAB (butterflies/secondaries) work you need to move A20 to A17. Next, take the two wire plug off of the IAB underneath the intake manifold. Now, cut the black wire and give it a 12V switched source. You can get 12V switched from the yel/blk wire at the injectors or IACV. Finally, put the plug back on the IAB canister.

That is it. Your swap is done and wired up just like factory.

Good luck.

i dont understand why people say move A20 to A17 or whatever.. when the pic below says nothing about that. if A17 is the IAB then why would u move it to A20?

this post is back from the dead... it was my first swap.. damn it was almost 2 years ago.. since then i figured out all the wires i think but things have changed.. both those cars are gone and motors are in new cars.. both motors have a skunk2 IM and there is no need for the IAB rewiring.. some advice.. get rid of the stock GSR IM it is garbage...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by nextelbuddy &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i dont understand why people say move A20 to A17 or whatever.. when the pic below says nothing about that. if A17 is the IAB then why would u move it to A20?</TD></TR></TABLE>

as for your question it has to something with obd1 and obd2 ecus, one ecu sends a (-) signal to open the secondarys.. and other a (+) to open them.. but back to what i said, get rid of the GSR IM, its trash!!

right now i spen all my money on turbo kit. so im stuck with the gsr manifold.

so to get things straight from what i read, im using 05 obd1 gsr motor and obd1 gsr engine harness what i have read it says with this setup all i have to do is wire the red/blue IAB wire to A17 on my civic ecu plug and the black wire from the IAB plug to a 12 volt source? or is it since im using a gsr harness all i should have to do is wire the red/blue wire from the IAB to A17 and be done with it? im stuck on what to do
