ok my car has problems
like this morning it started fine and everything was ok
but after school i came home and tried to start my car
adn it wouldnt start
i tried jumping
i unscrewed the fuel line to see if fuel was coming out ( it was)
but nothing seemed to work
then i tried starting it with the gas pedal on the floor
and it really really slowly started up
it was painful to listen to the start
i drove it and it felt very weak and is idleing really low like itl will drop to around 600 rpms
i dont know whats wrong.. how do u know if your car is throwing a code
how do u check
please help, i want my car back

i have a 92 civic dx, d15
and the light isnt on
i searched and someone said something about a vac leak?
if there was one where would it be?
because everytime i open the throttle i hear a kind of pop like there wasnt and air in the manifold and its all rushing in
and there is a kind of hiss on the drivers side
but i wasnt sure if it was there before or not

uhhh maybe not a vacume leak but maybe ur check light bulb is out..

does it come on when you turn your car to on??

umm i dunno what u mean, it will start but i have to put my foot to the floor and hold it there and after l**** 5 sec the car will start up
yea the light comes on when i start the car with all the other ones, but it doesnt stay on, i pulled the intake hose off and checked it but there was nothing there, nothing in the filter, but there was one hose i didnt get to, its the one that wraps down by your fender. but i took off the hose completely and it still sounded weak.

ok and to make a bad story worse
i just had my friend over to take a look
and while he was here he noticed some white smoke coming out of my exhaust
which definately isnt a good sign
ive heard that that means that there oil in your cat
and that the oil got there because ur pistons are fried
and that means im fucked
umm is this true???

white smoke from exhaust normally=headgasket

but normaly it wil start easily but with alot os smoke check your spark plugs are any of them wet? also check your wires sounds like your running on less than 4 cylinders

pull your dipstick and check if your oil looks like chocolate milk.

Hard starting and white smoke are both signs of a blown head gasket..

I highly doubt it's $100 or even close. I checked a price on a headgasket for a B16 at Honda, themselves, and it was about $76.

No where close..

Headgaskets are easy to replace, but I guess it would be a journey for some..

Get a helms and review of how to replace a headgasket.

well i replaced a headgasket on my old car
and it wasnt too hard just time consuming.
but i was planning on an h22 swap
becasue ive been reading a lot about em (poison).
and it sounds great, but i dont have the money right this moment and i dun wanna be puttin money into my beat 150k engine
so i was thinking to get an 1.5 vtec from japan and turboing it because one h-t member got about the same output as an h22 and for a newbie like me it sounded a little easier..... or i could replace the headgasket but the turbo is so tempting...
oo yea i checked the sparks they looked alrite (very shiny,like usual becaseu i always check em cause its easy)... but thanx!!!
