When I pulled my axles, I just stuck a flat head screwdriver between the axle and the tranny housing and pried it out (be careful of seals and whatnot though). It should come out pretty easy once you get it started.

Did u take the axle bolts off the hubs? if u did then u can use a pry bar instead of the screw driver for better leverage

yeah, I took the axle nuts off first (which are a pain in the **** to get off). I have done this several times, and sometimes I didn't have to pull the suspension apart a little bit to get the axle out, and sometimes I did. Just depends on how you can manuever things around.

Edit : A screwdriver should be enough, but if you only have a pry bar, I suppose that should work too, just try not to break anything
