Default help w/ my friends car "automatic prob's"

my friend Ralph has a b16 automatic(sleeeeeeeper status) lol anyways.. Well you know how to kinda race the automagic's .. drop down to 1, go to 2, go to D3, then D4. We went out for some good ol' ricers, then the next morning he realized a problem that the gears would shift but at a later mph thing.. (example. his 4th used to automatically shift @ like 35.. now its 45) and all the shifting from 1-2 is rough and it kicks kinda.. And i think the overdrive thing is broken?.. COrrect me in anyway we just want it fixed cuz it sucks for him hehe

Tell him to do a tranny swap.

Sounds like it's probably slipping.... Regular automatics like that aren't so much meant to be "maunally" shifted all the time. Doing so generates a lot of heat, and ATXs don't enjoy being hot.

Tell him to invest in a tranny cooler if he has not done so already (which I'm guessing he hasn't). I used to have an automatic Probe and I put a Hayden 404 tranny cooler on there and it really helped to reduce slippage issues that I was having.

How many miles are on this car?
