Default help!!! vtec wiring!! swap experts needed!!! asap!!

alrite i have everything for the complete gsr swap..axles, wire harness, motor mounts, everything..i need to swap this into a 92' si hatchback..i heard that they didn't wire for vtec til 93..so ANYONE that knows or done this before, please help..i have a couple questions

1) since i have the orignial gsr wire harness, do i need to wire for vtec?
2) if so..can any of u guys help me find the info or tell me?

i need to know this asap b/c it's about 4 rite now and i need to drop my old motor, and swap in my new one in about 6 or 8 hours..so help please!

first of all, haha, I most likely live down the road from you. Im in bellevue too. All of 92 hatchbacks are Wired for VTEC, CX, DX, VX, SI dont fuqin matter. it was 93 and up that they stopped wiring it on everything and just to the Vtec models(vx, SI). In your case, all you do is plug that GSR engine harness into your main harness and your ready to go. Its that easy! you will have to wire your IAB if you choose to have that. i have a 92 si all i had to run was the knock sensor

yes everything plugs right in however you will have to wire up the knock sensor and the IAB solenoid but the car will still run "ok" without these.

and yes, all 92 civics were prewired for vtec. but since you have the gsr harness, it's almost plug and play.

alrite..thanx guys..got most of it in today..but a few questions..there was an extra plug on the gsr wire harness..and there's a sensor on the cat..do i really need theses hookked up? and what do u guys mean by "ok"
