Default Help Vtec and spedometer aren't working/ check engine light

My speed sensor isn't working most likely, it works intermittently, i changed it three weeks ago and now it completely doesn't work. CAN I TEST THESE SENSORS ON SOMEONES CAR? I have a jdm b16a in a 98 ex. thanks

yeah I know b and d series speed sensors are the same.

find out what code you are throwing - probably for speed sensor - correct that whether it is connections or the sensor.

how would I find that out--most likely by hooking the car up to diagnostics i guess?

pull the plug off of the speed sensor and spray electronic plug cleaner in there .. or get a flat head and just clean off the spades. I used to have the same issues on my B16 A .. Does the speedometer sometimes bounce even when you are at a stop. Mine used to do that. I replaced the speed sensor 3 times. My final fix was taking the cotter pin out, making sure the gear was ok, cleaning the plug inside and out (theres a little spring inside be careful not to lose it) and then just putting it all back up together!!
