Help with understanding power door lock diagram
Hey what's up guys! I have a 97 Civic coupe ex that I'm having issues with the power door lock switch not working right. Currently, the switch only unlocks but doesn't lock. Here's what happened. My passenger window had suddenly stopped going up. It would only go down. I discovered that the connector on the driver side door carrying the wires from the cabin to the door had detached wires from their terminals. So I ordered new terminals from Honda and crimped them on to the wires and snapped them back into the connector. Well that solved my window problem and even my driver side speaker problem which had never worked until now, but now I have a new problem and that's the lock switch not locking when pressed down. It worked fine before I opened up the connector. My alarm fob will still lock and unlock the doors though. I tested the connector at the switch with a multimeter and read 5 point something volts at the green/orange wire but only about 1 point something volts at the green/white wire. what could this mean? Loose connection maybe? I double checked the wires but I'll check then again if need be. I have the wiring diagram but it's a little confusing to understand.
Thanks in advance!

The Grn/Wht wire is broken in the red circled section between the lock switch and power lock control unit.
Just run a new wire and you should be good to go.

Replace the whole wire where it goes across between the door and the rest of the car. They break internally not just at the ends. The outside may look OK but the copper inside is broken from repeated flexing.

A wire break anywhere outside of the red circled wire segment is inconsistent with the collective information provided in first post.

Re: Help with understanding power door lock diagram
Alright so I checked for continuity at the lock switch connector to the door lock control unit connector as pictured. I have continuity there but still reading about 1.11 volts. Could the control unit be bad? I have 12 volts at the white/green wire on the control unit connector. I also forgot to mention that when repairing the terminals on his fender side connector, I accidentally touched some of the wires and caused the door lock fuse to pop. I've since replaced it but could that have damage maybe something?

The Grand Canyon-sized gaping hole in this^ theory will become evident by asking yourself the following question: Why do the locks work fine with the keyless remote?
The Grn/Wht wire is bad in the location I circled. You would understand this obvious diagnosis if you understood or studied the circuit diagram.
And you showed no continuity result or details about how it was done. But the voltage drop speaks for itself. Think about it.

Thanks for sharing this diagram. My brother have been searching for this diagram for days without any result. Will pass this thread to him.
