HELP tranny problem in first gear. tranny skips
Did a big search and didn't come up with any answers. Ok here it is. Once at a stop i slap it into first and try to go but my tranny starts to skip. It causes the whole car to jump and shake. IT goes away after the rpm goes up. I have to rev up really high to cause it not to skip. Sometimes only sometimes it would not skip at low rpm. What could this be? Could this be caused by a bad tranny, clutch ect..... Please help this thing is annoying me.

bump because im having the same problem too. Mine gets worse on an incline such as a driveway. Im thinking it might be my flywheel not being resurfaced right.

Mine happened right after changing the clutch the first time. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after that my second gear went out. So i swapped out trannies, and found out that my flywheel had wierd scratch marks. But i didn't bother to resurface it due to time issues. Also, this only happens when the engine is warm and been driven for a while. I'll check back if anyone has an answer, this problem really bothers me also.

Re: (sohc_coupe24)
i was told this could be the clutch but it was a brand new clutch once i popped it in the first time. I thought it could be the tranny since it's old. Iunno tho. Can anyone help us out on this. Come to think about it my car does mainly skip once car is warm not cold.

the problem is between the trans in the engine (not an internal transmission issue)
either it's your clutch, pressureplate, or the hydraulic clutch system

it couldnt be the hydraulic clutch system because the pressure system seems fine. i figured it could be my pressure place since i have the hard pressure one (not the light soft pressure one). But i will prob get a whole new tranny with clutch and all.

i dont doubt that it's just my tranny was starting to have a slight grind in 3rd n e ways so i figured i get a new one while im at it.
