Help System too rich P0172 *check engine light*

Default Help System too rich P0172 *check engine light*

soo i just rented a autozone scanner and it say i "system to rich" p0172. i also just replace my old o2 sensor with a new oe denso o2 sensor. my CE light is sill on.

any help?

Just curious, after replacing your O2 sensor, did you reset the ECM/PCM?

dont think i resetted the ecm or pcm? what are thos? i did unplug the battery

Try unplugging the ecu and plugging it back in again.

I believe disconnecting the battery does the same thing though.

I'm pretty sure p0172 is picked up by the exhaust manifold o2 sensor - but if your engine IS running rich, just replacing the o2 sensor will not do anything. The CEL will still be thrown.

^ what can be done to fix this? gas prices are too high to be runing rich rite now.
