HELP: SWAPPING D16Y8 (OBD2A) MOTOR IN 95 HATCH (OBD1)
hey guys i serched and cant find anything... what all do I need to swap a d16y8 motor which is obd2a from a 1996 civic into my 1995 hatch which is obd1..
if you guys could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

you will keep the same harness. and the ObD 1 fuel injectors, alt and starter, the distributor you Will use the OBD 2 and just ree-pin it to the OBD 1 plugs. and that is basically it the rest is just plug and play.

if you have an si, you need to use a cx/dx/lx distributor on the y8, reuse the alternator, starter and harness off of your old motor and everything else will plug up using a p28. depending on the model you might have to run extra wires for vtec and a different o2 sensor since the cx uses a 1 wire and the vx uses 5 wire. try to find an ex/si harness and you wont have to do wiring

you can, but it would be alot easier to just use a p28 since your car is obd1. just use the z6 harness and it will be plug and play
