Default HELP. swapped jdm single cam into 92 hatch.. step on the gas car dies

has anyone heard of this? i put a jdm single cam in my girlfriends 92 hatch and it starts up and idles about 1500rpm but when you step on the gas the car dies. i think the fit valve may be bad but i dont think that it would cause the car to die when i step on the gas. any help would be much appreciated.

double check on the firing order and the timing like PONTIAC says.

ill check it again but i was thinkin since it dies when you open the throttle that it would be maybe something with the injectors

If your timing is correct it is defenatly a fuel problem. I would start with the map sensor. Perhaps you got the map sensor & tps sensor plugs mixed up. Are you getting a check engine light?

yes i am getting a check engine light. i found a vacuum leak yesterday from the throttle body gasket so im going to change that today and see what happens. im not sure but there might have been a leak coming from the fuel rail/ injector area but ill test the vacuum again and see what happens and let you guys know

almost sounds like throttle position or map sensor is bad, or hooked up in the wrong place.
