help with surging at idle 96 civic ex
i bought a 96 ex 5 spd with a bad motor.i swapped it with the motor from a 99 ex auto.all sensors and harness stayed on the 99 motor and i plugged into the 96 ecu.car surged real bad at idle.i figured out that the auto had a different manifold and iacv so i went and got the ecu that went with that engine and plugged it up.now i still have the surging but the engine ran fine in the old car that was wrecked.car runs good but idle bounces about twice a second from maybe 1200-1600rpm.did i screw up the iacv by plugging it into the old ecu maybe sending power or something into the wrong spot?does anyone know how to test the plug at theiacv with a meter to make sure it is right or test the valve itself.also will the car throw a cel using an auto ecu with all of the tranny harnesses unplugged?
-thanks in advance

yeah you will get a cel for an auto ecu in a manual car, look up the pinout for you ecu and make sure you have continuity between the iacv plug here's a link to the some pinouts http://hondaswap.com/reference-mater...pinouts-28667/ have you checked to see what cels you have, obviously you have atleast one for the auto ecu but just disregard that and tell us the other ones
